How long does it take to make one pen?It takes about an hour to 1.5hrs to take a block of wood or acrylic and transform it into a pen.
Where are your materials sourced from?I source my material from numerous places, including local stores, social media, the internet (it’s new, you may not have heard about it yet), and sometimes thrift stores and garage sales. I enjoy repurposing wood into a new project.
Do you use reclaimed or recycled wood?Yes, I am frequently eyeballing pieces of old furniture, cutting boards, etc, to see if it could make a unique pen.
What type of ink do your pens use? Are refills easy to find?Fine or medium point? Most pens have medium point.
Can I request a custom pen?Requests for a custom pen will be considered. I will require a non-refundable deposit. Time to complete a custom order depends on many factors, and will be discussed with you at the time of your order.
Do you offer engraving? At this time, engraving is not available, but stay tuned; it may come around in the future.
Are your pens good as gifts? These pens make EXCELLENT gifts! Seriously, who doesn’t need a pen? These are one of a kind and handmade in sunny CA.
How long does shipping take and how much does it cost? Do you ship internationally?I am not sure about shipping cost, or how long it takes to arrive. My goodies are usually sold in person at art shows.
Not shipping internationally at this time.
Do you offer repairs or maintenance? If you’re having issues with your pen, please reach out and I’ll try to make it right. Now, if your dog/cat/kid/vacuum/lawnmover get to it, you’re on your own.
How should I care for my pen? Can the pen be exposed to water? If something spills on your pen, you can wipe it off or disassemble it to dry out. That should be fine.
Please don’t go swimming with your pen or have it help you with dishes…
Will the finish wear over time?Finishes will wear naturally over time with normal use, but that will not interefere with the function of your new pen.
Are you on social media?I am currently on Facebook under “Uncle Paul’s Pens”. My friend Sher will likely push me toward Instragram. I’ll consider it but only if she does the posts.
